One Oil to rule them all, One Oil to find them, One Oil to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them …

star anise

Many people if asked to name the King of All oils would probably mention Frankincense. The reasoning behind that would be fairly sound – after all, if it was the choice of the Wise Men to Jesus, it has a good recommendation to back up its claim. And true, it does have some fairly remarkable attributes and has been used for thousands of years for religious ceremonies and healing salves. Scientific research has shown that the compounds in frankincense are able to cross the blood/brain barrier, which is why it has many uses for the entire body and mind, from healing scars to grounding to help provide a positive mental balance.

However, when I think of the King of All oils, I would be speaking of the master blend base oil which can be used with any formulation to ramp its power right up to 11 on the scale.

If there is anything that you just want to give that extra oomph to, be it a money drawing oil, a love oil or even a clearing oil, by using this base, you can be assured that you have truly put everything into it that you possibly could.

So what’s the secret behind this little beauty? It’s fairly simple, with only a few ingredients, and the only one that may be a little tricky to get hold of is masterwort root. which you may also find listed as astrantia root. As I said, it can be tricky to source, but the effect you can achieve by using this oil makes it worth the treasure hunt …

To blend yourself some, you will need:

  • A lidded jar
  • Carrier oil – my personal favorite of the moment is holly oil
  • Heaped tablespoon of dried star anise
  • A chunk of masterwort root
  • A handful of woodruff (Master of the Woods)

Just add your carrier oil to the jar, and follow up with the remaining ingredients. Once you have completed your oil jar, replace the lid, and give thanks to the spirit energies that you believe in. It is best if you can allow this oil to steep for a while, and as befitting its importance, it’s a good idea to store it wrapped in a purple, red or gold cloth.

It’s worth making up a batch of this oil, as the longer it blends together, the better it is, and you just never know when you’re going to want to call on “just that bit extra” … If you blend and use some of this liquid Luck, let me know how you get on, and what results you obtain!
